Alquist Wins RBS Innovation Gateway Competition:  Monday 10 November 2014


Alquist was tonight declared a winner in the high profile RBS Innovation Gateway, an eight month multi-stage competition involving more than 140 UK and international SME entrants. RBS will now fund deployment of Alquist's Celsius technology at one of their data centre sites on a trial basis. RBS will also examine the potential for using Alquist technology more broadly across its estate. The RBS Innovation Gateway is a group-wide initiative sponsored by RBS Deputy CEO Chris Sullivan, who presented the award. It aims to upgrade the group's building portfolio with energy efficiency as a major focus.

 Alquist has won the Computer Weekly European User Award for Best Technology Innovation for Networking 2014. Judge Clive Longbottom, founder of Quocirca, said: "As equipment densities in datacentres increases, the possibility of hotspots occuring grows. Alquist has been selected as one of only 30 cleantech startups presenting as finalists at the highly prestigious National Renewables Energy Laboratory (NREL) Industry Growth Forum event (IGF) on 3-4th December 2013 in Denver, Colorado. NREL is the US Department of Energy's primary laboratory for renewable energy and efficiency research and development.  The NREL IGF forum is the premier US event for clean energy start-ups to maximise their exposure to receptive venture capital, corporate investors, and strategic partners. Alquist is one of only two companies from outside North America selected to present.
